The study, conducted by PMP Strategy, will analyze how generative AI affects revenue streams for creators across multiple disciplines, including songwriters, composers, translators, directors, and screenwriters. The findings will be presented during an online press briefing on December 3.

Key Components of the Study:

  • Economic projections for the AI content market
  • Analysis of potential creator income losses
  • Comparison with AI companies' revenue growth trends
  • Policy recommendations for protecting human-made works

CISAC, representing six million creators worldwide, commissioned the study to address growing concerns about AI's impact on creative industries. The organization calls for immediate action to protect creators' rights and ensure their voices are heard in policy discussions.

"AI will bring the biggest revolution the creative sector has seen. To prepare, we must act now," states Ulvaeus, emphasizing the need for global solutions and creator involvement in decision-making processes.

The study follows CISAC's annual report highlighting AI's increasing prominence in creative industries. Both Ulvaeus and CISAC Director General Gadi Oron praised the EU's AI Act as a positive first step, while acknowledging the need for continued education and advocacy efforts.

CISAC has previously coordinated with other creative industry bodies to present policymakers with regulatory recommendations regarding AI implementation, demonstrating their commitment to protecting creators' interests in the evolving digital landscape.
