To use Set List, artists need a profile image on Apple Music and are encouraged to connect their account with Bandsintown for enhanced concert discovery. Creating a playlist is straightforward: artists select an event type (concert, tour, or residency), link upcoming shows, and add their setlist tracks.
Key features:
- Playlists can be scheduled in advance (minimum one day ahead)
- No limit on the number of Set List playlists per artist
- Automatic integration with artist's Shazam profile
- Connects with Ticketmaster for ticket sales
Benefits for artists and fans:
- Promotes upcoming shows effectively
- Helps fans identify songs post-concert
- Reaches fans who couldn't attend live events
- Enhances concert discovery through Bandsintown integration
This launch follows other recent Apple Music improvements, including worldwide radio spin tracking for artists and playlist export functionality to YouTube Music. The feature strengthens Apple Music's position in the streaming market while providing valuable tools for both artists and concert-goers.
