Arden Records Launches New Publishing Division to Support Lo-Fi Artists
Lo-fi specialist Arden Records has announced the expansion of its operations with a new publishing division aimed at supporting its roster of artists.

Three men at record label office
Founded in 2021 through a partnership with Platoon, Arden Records was established by Nepalese lo-fi pioneer sagun alongside music executives Jordan Smith and Andrew Kwan. The label has built a diverse roster including artists like clay house, DAVI JUNO, French WiFi, Maono, and several others.
The launch of the publishing arm comes at a strategic time, as lo-fi music continues to gain mainstream popularity. This growth is exemplified by recent successes like sagun's production work on UMI's 2024 single "wherever u r," featuring BTS member V.
The new publishing division will focus on:
- Protecting artists' creative rights
- Streamlining royalty collection
- Creating new opportunities for producers and songwriters
- Supporting authentic musicianship in an AI-dominated landscape
- Facilitating collaborations across different genres
"Our main goal is far beyond simple royalty collection," explains co-founder Jordan Smith. "We aim to educate other teams on how powerful alternate versions of songs can be and establish ourselves as a go-to for production needs."
The expansion reinforces Arden's commitment to maintaining human creativity in lo-fi music, particularly as AI-generated content becomes more prevalent in the genre. Through this new venture, the label aims to provide its artists with additional resources while preserving the authentic, community-driven spirit that has defined their approach since inception.
"Having less to worry about as an artist outside of their creative endeavors eventually leads to new opportunities that help them grow," notes sagun, emphasizing the practical benefits this expansion will bring to the label's artists.
