The performance will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston, Beyoncé's hometown, during the halftime show of the 4:30 PM ET game. The event marks Netflix's first NFL Christmas Gameday broadcast, which includes an earlier game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 PM ET.
Netflix announced the news with promotional content showing the superstar in a patriotic leather outfit, reflecting her Cowboy Carter era aesthetic. The performance timing is strategic, coming ahead of the 2025 Grammy Awards where Beyoncé leads with 11 nominations across multiple categories including Album of the Year.
This isn't Beyoncé's first NFL performance - she previously headlined the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans, featuring a Destiny's Child reunion, and appeared during Super Bowl 50's halftime show headlined by Coldplay. Her husband Jay-Z serves as head of music and entertainment programming at the NFL.
The Christmas Day game will be available on:
- Netflix streaming platform
- Broadcast TV in competing team cities
- NFL+ for US mobile devices
The performance is expected to feature special guests from the Cowboy Carter album, though specific details remain under wraps.
