Dead & Company and John Mayer Bring Grateful Dead Legacy to Las Vegas Sphere with 14-Show Residency

The band, featuring Grateful Dead founder Bob Weir and guitarist John Mayer, confirmed the news on social media after their supposed farewell tour ended at San Francisco's Oracle Park in July 2023. "In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour. But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops," the band stated on Instagram.
The residency will take place at the first-of-its-kind $2.3 billion Sphere venue, a Madison Square Garden spin-off that opened last April. The venue has already secured Phish for a four-night run in April and is reportedly in talks with other major artists, including Beyoncé.
The stationary nature of the residency particularly appeals to the band's veteran members, eliminating the need for extensive touring. While official representatives haven't commented, the formal announcement is expected this week.
