During a charity event for his AIDS Foundation in London, John admitted, "I have lost my sight and I haven't been able to see the performance, but I have enjoyed listening to it." His husband, David Furnish, has been providing crucial support during this challenging period.
In a detailed interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts, John explained that he completely lost vision in his right eye in July due to the infection, while his left eye's condition remains compromised. The illness has forced him to pause his musical projects, as he currently cannot read lyrics or work effectively in the studio.
Despite these health challenges, fans can look forward to "Elton John: Never Too Late," a new documentary chronicling his illustrious career. Directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, the documentary features vintage concert footage and personal reflections on his journey, premiering on Disney+ on December 13.
The artist maintains hope for recovery while acknowledging the significant impact this condition has had on his professional activities. "We're taking an initiative to try and get better, but at the moment that's what we're really concentrating on," John stated, emphasizing his focus on health recovery.
