Jackson, now CEO of gamma., received intelligence from an FBI-connected source about the threat to Keef's life around the time Interscope signed him in 2012. Taking on a paternal role, Jackson intervened by writing to a judge on Keef's behalf, successfully preventing jail time for the young artist.

The revelation came during Keef's early career when Interscope signed him for $6 million following his breakthrough hit "I Don't Like." Despite releasing his debut album "Finally Rich" that same year, Keef's contract with Interscope was terminated in 2014 due to legal complications.

Keef's legal troubles began in 2011 when he was arrested for heroin manufacture and distribution as a minor. At 16, he was involved in a shootout with police, leading to multiple charges including aggravated assault with a firearm on police officers. This resulted in a four-week detention center stay.

Now 29, the Chicago native has maintained a lower profile since his last arrest in 2017 for cannabis possession in South Dakota, showing significant improvement in staying clear of legal issues.
