Houston Attorney Sues Roc Nation Over Alleged Client Payments in Jay-Z, Diddy Legal Battle
Tony Buzbee, a Houston attorney representing over 100 clients in cases against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, has filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z's Roc Nation, alleging illegal payment schemes to undermine his law firm.

Buzbee claims Roc Nation is financing efforts to convince his clients to file lawsuits against his firm, presenting recorded evidence of alleged investigators making monetary offers to clients. According to Buzbee, these investigators from New York contacted numerous current and former clients of his firm.
The lawsuit, filed in Harris County Texas, includes a transcript where investigators allegedly offered immediate payments to clients, including "$1,000 to start" while promising future compensation through court proceedings. Buzbee argues this constitutes criminal behavior under Texas law.
Key allegations from the lawsuit state that "Defendants have conspired to obstruct justice by engaging shadowy operatives to illegally seek out more than two dozen current and former clients of The Buzbee Law Firm to convince those clients to bring frivolous cases."
In response, a Roc Nation spokesperson dismissed the allegations, stating to The Houston Chronicle that "Tony Buzbee's baloney lawsuit against Roc Nation is nothing but another sham" and "a pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention."
Buzbee has announced his intention to cooperate with authorities to ensure prosecution of all involved parties to the full extent of Texas law.
