Notable departures include News Director Chris Little, who had been with the station since 1991, along with anchor Jo Kwon, editor Erin Ben-Moche, and reporters Corbin Carson and Kris Adler.

The layoffs are part of iHeartMedia's broader cost-cutting initiative aimed at reducing its $5.21 billion debt. CEO Bob Pittman stated the company expects to save approximately $150 million by "eliminating redundancies." According to Pittman, the cuts primarily target non-air talent positions, as the company plans to leverage technology to distribute talent across different markets.

This restructuring has affected nearly 500 employees across major markets including Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and San Francisco.

Tim Conway Jr., a KFI show host, acknowledged the situation during his Monday broadcast, simply stating, "A lot of people have left the building at iHeartMedia."
