Jay-Z faces renewed paternity claims from Rymir Satterthwaite while dealing with sexual assault allegations.

Rymir Satterthwaite, 31, has filed a new lawsuit on November 25, continuing his decade-long effort to prove Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) is his biological father. The lawsuit claims Carter's legal team engaged in fraudulent practices to avoid paternity testing.

Key Details of the Paternity Case:

  • Satterthwaite's mother, Wanda, stated in a sworn affidavit that she had relations with Carter in 1992 when she was 16
  • Satterthwaite was born in summer 1993
  • Initial paternity case began in 2012 in Camden County, New Jersey
  • Previous DNA test ruled out Robert Graves, Wanda's former boyfriend, as the father
  • Case was initially dismissed in Pennsylvania due to age limitations
  • New Jersey law allows parentage cases until age 23

The new lawsuit lists Satterthwaite, his late mother Wanda, and guardian Dr. Lillie Coley as plaintiffs against several New Jersey courts. They allege constitutional rights violations through sealed records, wrongful sanctions, and legal proceeding obstruction from 2012 to 2023.

Controversy surrounds Jay-Z's legal team's handling of the case, particularly regarding property ownership claims in New Jersey. His attorney, Lise Fisher, admitted to "misspeaking" about Carter's property holdings in the state, which Satterthwaite's team argues constitutes legal fraud under New Jersey law.

The timing of this renewed legal battle coincides with separate allegations against Carter regarding a sexual assault case from 2000, where he and Sean "Diddy" Combs are named in a civil lawsuit.
