Lil Wayne Sets 'Tha Carter VI' Release Date During Super Bowl Cetaphil Commercial
Lil Wayne has revealed the release date for his highly anticipated album 'Tha Carter VI' through a clever Cetaphil Super Bowl advertisement campaign titled "We're All A Lil Sensitive."

The advertisement playfully addresses Wayne's public disappointment at not being selected for this year's Super Bowl halftime show, while simultaneously announcing the release date for 'Tha Carter VI' - June 6, 2025 (6-6-25). This date appears multiple times throughout the ad on football jerseys and a basketball scorecard.
In the commercial's final scene, Wayne declines Super Bowl tickets, stating "Nah, this is time sensitive" before entering his studio, which displays a "Do Not Disturb 'Til 06-06-2025" sign with "Carter VI" written on duct tape.
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the campaign, Wayne explained, "The world knew I was disappointed, but what they didn't know was that it made me determined to deliver something way bigger."
The NFL's decision to book Kendrick Lamar instead of Wayne for the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans led to public discourse, with Lamar even referencing the situation in his recent album GNX. On the track "wacced out murals," Lamar acknowledges the situation with the lyrics "Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down."
Wayne previously expressed his disappointment on social media but thanked his fans for their support, stating, "It made me feel like shit, not getting this opportunity, and when I felt like shit, you guys reminded me that I ain't shit without y'all."
