
Litmus Music Acquires 80% of Randy Newman's Music Rights, Including Iconic Film Soundtracks
Randy Newman has sold 80% of his recorded music and publishing rights to Litmus Music, a Carlyle Global Credit-backed company. The deal encompasses Newman's extensive catalog of work, including his iconic contributions to animated films and his solo career achievements.

The acquisition includes Newman's work on beloved animated films such as:
- Toy Story series (including "You've Got a Friend in Me")
- Cars
- Monsters, Inc.
Notable hits covered in the deal:
- "I Love L.A." (1983)
- "Feels Like Home" (1990s)
- "Mama Told Me Not to Come" (1967)
- "It's a Jungle Out There" (Monk theme)
The catalog also includes numerous soundtrack albums and approximately twelve solo studio projects, spanning from his 1968 self-titled debut to 2017's "Dark Matter."
