Lizzo Cleared of Personal Liability in Harassment Lawsuit, Tour Company Still Faces Legal Action
A federal judge has dismissed all personal liability claims against Lizzo in the harassment lawsuit filed by former touring employee Asha Daniels. However, Lizzo's touring company, Big Grrrl Touring Inc., may still face legal action.

U.S. District Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha dismissed all seven causes of action against Lizzo, along with claims against tour manager Carlina Gugliotta. The ruling prevents Daniels from refiling these claims.
The lawsuit, filed in September 2023, stems from Daniels' work during Lizzo's 2023 European tour. The 50-page complaint alleges:
- Racist and fatphobic behavior
- Sexual harassment
- Disability discrimination
- Physical injury from a wardrobe manager
- Toxic work environment
Daniels initially joined the tour in September 2022 as a costume designer before becoming an in-person wardrobe maintainer in February 2024. Her attorney, Ron Zambrano, confirms that while Lizzo personally is no longer liable, "The lawsuit still exists as to Lizzo's companies."
Lizzo's attorney Martin D. Singer expressed satisfaction with the dismissal and suggested possible counter-action for malicious prosecution. The case continues as Lizzo and Big Grrrl Touring Company seek dismissal of all dancers' allegations, while the dancers request a jury trial.
