Mandy Moore Defends Sharing GoFundMe for In-Laws Who Lost Home in LA Fires
Singer-actress Mandy Moore defended sharing a GoFundMe page for her in-laws who lost their home in the Los Angeles wildfires, responding to critics with "kindly F off" to those questioning her actions.
Moore shared the fundraiser, created by a friend named Matt, to help her brother-in-law Griffin Goldsmith and his wife Kit, who lost everything to the Eaton fire. The situation is particularly dire as the couple is expecting their first baby in the coming weeks. Griffin, a touring musician, also lost his entire collection of musical instruments and equipment essential for his livelihood.

Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith also suffered damage to their Altadena home, located about 30 miles east of Pacific Palisades, where wildfires remain only 13% contained. While their main house remains standing but uninhabitable, they lost Taylor and Griffin's studio, garage, and back house.
"People questioning whether we're helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic," Moore stated. "Of course we are helping."
The GoFundMe campaign has successfully exceeded its initial $60,000 goal. Moore expressed feeling survivor's guilt, noting that while their damage was significant, others in their community, including every house on their street, lost everything completely.
The wildfires continue to affect the Los Angeles metropolitan area, causing widespread destruction and displacement of residents. Moore's transparency about the situation highlights the devastating impact of natural disasters on communities, regardless of perceived wealth or status.
