NBA YoungBoy Gets 23 Months Prison Sentence and 5 Years Probation for Firearm Charge
NBA YoungBoy has been sentenced to 23 months in federal prison and 60 months of probation for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. The sentence stems from his 2020 arrest in Baton Rouge during a music video shoot where he and 15 others were detained, resulting in the seizure of multiple firearms.

The rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has been serving time in Utah since May for six charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and unlawful activity. His time served could reduce his remaining sentence to approximately 12 months.
Additional charges against Gaulden include identity fraud, forgery, and possession of a controlled substance. He recently pleaded guilty to his involvement in a prescription drug fraud ring operated from his Utah mansion, entering a "no contest" plea to several of the 46 total charges.
Despite his legal troubles, Gaulden has maintained a successful music career. In 2022, five of his eight full-length releases reached the Billboard 200 Top 10. His album "The Last Slimeto" peaked at #2, marking his final project under Atlantic Records before signing with Motown.
