Each year during the holiday season, rapper Talib Kweli faces congratulations for an Amazon Christmas advertisement he didn't create. Kweli recently clarified this misconception on Bluesky social media platform.

The advertisement actually features "A Good Time Coming (March of the Nutcracker)" by Tez Tez featuring Black Prez, released in 2022. While the vocalist sounds remarkably similar to Kweli, it's not him - a fact that becomes more apparent considering Kweli's ongoing support of Amazon workers' strikes.

"I've never had a song used in an Amazon ad. That's just someone who sounds like me," Kweli stated on Bluesky. The song blends themes from "The Nutcracker" with modern hip-hop elements, creating a holiday-themed rap track.

Some fans have suggested legal action, recommending Kweli pursue claims for right of publicity, defamation, and intentional misrepresentation. However, the legal standing for such claims based solely on voice similarity remains unclear.

The confusion persists mainly due to the striking vocal resemblance between Kweli and the actual artist, though the distinction is important given Kweli's public stance on Amazon's labor practices.
