The MPC Channel Strip plug-in combines six essential components from Harrison's MPC 5 digital mixing console:

  • 8-band parametric EQ with RTA
  • Multi-pole filters
  • Two-band de-esser
  • Two-band de-noiser
  • Compressor
  • Routing, trim and polarity controls

Key advantages of the plug-in include:

  • All functions accessible in a single window
  • Customizable signal flow ordering
  • Similar feel and response to original hardware
  • Seamless integration with modern DAW workflows

While Sony has embraced the software solution, they maintain Harrison hardware in their major stages, including:

  • Harrison MPC consoles in music sections
  • Harrison Xrange processing system for routing and speaker management
  • Support for all major formats (Atmos, Auro3D, IMAX)

The implementation helps Sony Pictures maintain consistent audio processing across their facility while adapting to modern digital workflows, combining the familiar feel of Harrison's hardware with the flexibility of software-based solutions.

Harrison continues to be a major player in professional audio, having installed over 1,500 consoles worldwide since their founding in Nashville in 1975.
