Tyrone Rose, 20, from Kingston, Jamaica, and Shamara P. Simmons, 31, from Jamaica, Queens, face multiple charges including grand larceny and computer tampering. If convicted, they could face 3-15 years in prison.

The scheme operated from June 2022 to July 2023, during which the hackers:

  • Exploited their access at Sutherland, a StubHub third-party contractor
  • Intercepted ticket URLs meant for legitimate buyers
  • Redirected approximately 993 tickets to conspirators in Queens
  • Resold the stolen tickets on StubHub for substantial profits

The stolen tickets included access to high-profile events such as:

  • Taylor Swift's Eras Tour
  • Adele concerts
  • Ed Sheeran performances
  • NBA games
  • US Open Tennis Championships

District Attorney Melinda Katz emphasized the significance of this cybercrime, noting how the defendants exploited Taylor Swift's tour popularity and other major events for personal gain. The investigation remains ongoing, with the defendants scheduled to return to court on March 7.
