Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has negotiated a deal for his prison release following recent parole violations. The agreement includes one month in jail followed by three months of monitored home incarceration.
The deal, approved by Judge Paul A. Englemayer, requires Tekashi (Daniel Hernandez) to:
- Serve 30 days in jail
- Complete 3 months of home detention with electronic monitoring
- Submit to court probation supervision for 1 year
The violations occurred when the rapper failed to obtain travel permissions and tested positive on mandatory drug tests. This incident comes after his 2019 conviction for racketeering and gang-related charges, which resulted in a two-year prison sentence, $35,000 fine, and supervised release with community service.
Notably, Tekashi previously received early release in April 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns related to his asthma and bronchitis. Judge Englemayer expressed disappointment in the rapper's failure to comply with release conditions after receiving this compassionate consideration.
A formal hearing is scheduled for November 12, where both parties will present arguments supporting the proposed sentence terms.
