The new label has already secured two notable signings: Syd (formerly of Columbia Records) and Alex Isley (daughter of the Isley Brothers' Ernie Isley). Ericka Coulter, Warner Records' A&R SVP, will serve as Free Lunch Records' GM while maintaining her current role.
This partnership builds upon Free Lunch's existing relationship with AEG Presents, where they handle hip-hop, R&B, and gospel tours. The collaboration aims to leverage Free Lunch's multifaceted operations in creative development, touring, and brand building alongside Warner Records' industry expertise.
Warner Records co-chair and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck emphasized the "perfect synergy" between the companies, highlighting Hinshaw's comprehensive understanding of hip-hop and R&B culture across music, sports, fashion, and live entertainment.
Hinshaw expressed his vision for the partnership: "By uniting Free Lunch Agency with Warner Records, we can combine our expertise in creative, music, and brand building to elevate the first-class roster... together we'll expand the scope of artist narratives to connect even more deeply with fans across the globe."
