Aquarian and Raven Capital have joined forces to launch Raven Music Partners, a $250 million joint venture focused exclusively on music rights acquisition. The partnership combines Aquarian's significant financial backing (managing nearly $22 billion in assets) with Raven's established music industry expertise through Endurance Music Group.

The new venture begins with an impressive portfolio of 15,000 music assets, featuring works from notable artists including Morgan Wallen, Meghan Trainor, and James Arthur. Operating from offices in New York, Los Angeles, and South Florida, Raven Music Partners aims to expand its catalog through strategic partnerships with songwriters, artists, music managers, independent publishers, and labels.

Leading the venture are key industry figures: Rudy Sahay, Aquarian's founder and former Guggenheim VP, and Jeremy Tucker, Raven Capital's co-founder, who serves as managing member of the new entity. Sahay highlighted the venture's appeal, citing "predictable cash flow and uncorrelated nature of music rights to broader macroeconomic trends" as key advantages in the competitive music royalties sector.

This development comes amid significant activity in the music rights market, with recent notable transactions including:

  • Duetti's $200 million debt funding announcement
  • Deadmau5's $55 million IP agreement with Create Music Group
  • Potential upcoming sales of Red Hot Chili Peppers' recordings and Notorious B.I.G.'s catalog, reportedly valued at around $650 million combined

The venture's strategy emphasizes a disciplined investment approach and leverages Endurance Music Group's deep Nashville connections to source new opportunities in the music rights market.
