BLACKPINK's Rosé Exits KOMCA Following Solo Success - YG Plus Stock Surges
Blackpink's Rosé has officially withdrawn her music from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), marking a significant move in her flourishing solo career. This decision, implemented in October 2024 and finalized in January 2025, makes her only the second artist to leave KOMCA since its establishment.

The 28-year-old artist, who maintains her contract with YG Entertainment as part of Blackpink while having a solo deal with Atlantic Records, has achieved remarkable success with her English-language releases. Her collaboration with Bruno Mars, "APT.," has accumulated 1.24 billion Spotify streams in just over four months.
The decision to switch to a U.S.-based royalty system appears strategically sound, considering KOMCA's lengthy payment processing times for U.S. earnings, which can take "from six months to a year" according to industry insiders.
Current Spotify monthly listener statistics highlight Rosé's individual success:
- Rosé: 63.88 million
- Jennie: 42.47 million
- Lisa: 23.25 million
- Jisoo: 7.87 million
- Blackpink (group): 16.41 million
The news has positively impacted YG Entertainment's market performance:
- YG Entertainment stock (KOSDAQ: 122870) up 44.5% year-over-year
- YG Plus subsidiary (KRX: 037270) experienced a 36% increase following the KOMCA announcement
Blackpink fans can look forward to the group's comeback tour, scheduled to begin in Seoul on July 5th.
