The new Hollywood location will feature two performance spaces - a 200-capacity main room and a 100-capacity secondary venue - alongside a full-service restaurant. Grammy-winning artist Robert Glasper will curate events, extending his successful Robtober residency to the West Coast location.
In a landmark development, Blue Note will become the flagship partner of the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival (formerly Playboy Jazz Festival). The renamed Blue Note Jazz Festival launches June 14 at the Hollywood Bowl, with lineup announcements scheduled for February 18 and tickets available in May.
LA Phil president Kim Noltemy emphasized the partnership's commitment to celebrating jazz excellence and maintaining the Bowl's legacy of world-class performances.
The expansion adds to Blue Note's global presence, which includes venues in Hawaii, Tokyo, Italy, China, Brazil, and Napa. The Napa edition of the Blue Note Jazz Festival, established in 2022, features a diverse lineup spanning jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, with past headliners including Mary J. Blige, Chance the Rapper, Maxwell, and Nas.
This development comes at a crucial time for Los Angeles's jazz scene, as several established venues have recently closed their doors while others face operational challenges.
