Bob Dylan Endorses Timothée Chalamet for Upcoming Biopic 'A Complete Unknown'
Bob Dylan has publicly endorsed Timothee Chalamet's portrayal of him in the upcoming biopic "A Complete Unknown," marking his first acknowledgment of the film project.
Dylan expressed his approval on social media, stating: "Timmy's a brilliant actor so I'm sure he's going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me." He also recommended fans read Elijah Wald's "Dylan Goes Electric," the book that inspired the film.

The film, directed by James Mangold, chronicles Dylan's early years in New York's Greenwich Village folk scene during the 1960s, culminating in his controversial electric performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. While Dylan has provided input during production and script development, his social media post suggests he hasn't yet viewed the final cut.
The star-studded cast includes:
- Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez
- Edward Norton as Pete Seeger
- Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash
- Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie
- Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo (a fictional character based on Suze Rotolo)
Written by Mangold and Jay Cocks, and produced with Dylan's manager Jeff Rosen, "A Complete Unknown" is scheduled for release on December 25.
Chalamet responded to Dylan's endorsement with gratitude, saying: "Floored. I am so grateful. Thank you Bob."
