Ghislaine Maxwell Prosecutor Maurene Comey Joins Diddy Sex Trafficking Case
Maurene Comey, a key prosecutor who helped secure Ghislaine Maxwell's conviction in 2021, has joined the Department of Justice's sex trafficking case against Sean "Diddy" Combs. Comey, daughter of former FBI director James Comey, officially joined the prosecution team on Monday.

The court has denied Combs bail for the third time, citing his alleged history of violence, including firearms use, kidnapping, and arson to intimidate victims and witnesses. The court determined that "no conditions of release can assure the safety of the community." Evidence suggests Combs has attempted to obscure communications with prohibited contacts.
Combs' defense team, led by Marc Agnifilo, continues to challenge the prosecution. They recently sought a court order to prevent a potential jury from considering allegedly leaked evidence, including 2016 hotel surveillance footage showing Combs assaulting former girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Combs alleges the Department of Homeland Security leaked the video to CNN to influence the grand jury.
The court has ordered prosecutors to submit an affidavit confirming they weren't the source of the leaks. Prosecutors are prohibited from disclosing information about grand jury proceedings.
Agnifilo, who spent nearly two decades working with former Harvey Weinstein lawyer Ben Brafman, has previously represented high-profile clients including Martin Shkreli, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Roger Ng, and NXIVM leader Keith Raniere.
