Bollywood composer Pritam has defended BLACKPINK's Jennie against plagiarism accusations regarding her upcoming solo track "Like Jennie." The controversy emerged when listeners noticed similarities between Jennie's song and "Rani's Theme" from the 2023 Bollywood film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Both songs feature their respective artist's names (Jennie/Rani) chanted throughout with similar beat patterns and vocal arrangements. However, Pritam, who composed "Rani's Theme," dismisses these claims via Instagram, explaining that similar-sounding names naturally create comparable rhythmic patterns.

"Rani and Jennie are names that rhyme, so a similar flow in one phrase doesn't make it a copy," Pritam stated. "In music, minor similarities are bound to happen — whether through rhymes, phrasing, or even within the same genre."

The composer emphasized that in today's interconnected music industry, such coincidences are common. He advocates for celebration rather than criticism, suggesting that if artists truly connect with each other's work, they should pursue collaboration instead of controversy.

While Jennie has not yet addressed these accusations, Pritam's professional perspective offers valuable context to the debate. His stance highlights the importance of supporting artistic creativity rather than fostering unnecessary conflict between fan communities.
