Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Soundtrack Brings '90s Rock and Grunge to Gulf War Era
Composer Jack Wall brings nostalgic '90s vibes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's soundtrack, perfectly matching the game's Gulf War setting.

Conductor leads orchestra in recording studio
Wall, who has scored every Black Ops game since 2012, created approximately 160 minutes of original music for this installment. The soundtrack combines cinematic orchestration with authentic early '90s sounds, blending late '80s synth with emerging grunge influences.
Collaborating with alt-rock duo ROMES, whom Wall describes as "a modern-day Nirvana," the composer co-wrote several tracks including the multiplayer theme "Raining the Fire." The soundtrack is structured around two key pieces: the main theme and the multiplayer track.
Wall's extensive musical background includes engineering work at prestigious studios like Synchro Sound and Skyline Studios NYC, where he worked with artists such as John Cale, David Byrne, Dr. John, and Patti Smith. This experience helped shape his approach to creating an authentic '90s sound for Black Ops 6.
The soundtrack divides its 160 minutes between the single-player campaign and multiplayer mode, with 20 minutes dedicated to multiplayer and the remainder enhancing the campaign's cinematic experience.
