Childish Gambino Lives On: Donald Glover Confirms New Music Is Coming Soon
Donald Glover has confirmed he's actively working on new music and may return as Childish Gambino, despite previous retirement announcements. During a Golden Globes interview with Laverne Cox, Glover revealed he's been in the studio collaborating with "secret people" on various projects.

Although Glover announced in 2017 that he would retire the Childish Gambino name after his "Awaken, My Love!" follow-up (which became the 2020 album "3.15.20"), he now suggests this may not be the case. When asked directly about using the Childish Gambino moniker for future releases, Glover responded, "You don't have to worry about that."
Beyond music, Glover is set to reunite with the Community cast for an upcoming movie shooting in June. Series creator Dan Harmon confirmed Glover's essential role, stating, "For lack of a better word, there was a ball fumbled, [Glover] is down to clown. Man, I would not want to think about making [the movie] without Donald."
Fans can anticipate both new Childish Gambino music and the Community movie in the near future. Glover has already shown renewed public musical activity, including a recent "Redbone" duet performance with Billie Eilish.
