In his latest controversial posts, Ye made explicit antisemitic statements, including declaring himself "a Nazi" and expressing admiration for Hitler. He also stated he would not apologize for his antisemitic remarks.
Schwimmer highlighted the serious impact of allowing such hate speech on social media, noting that Ye's 32.7 million followers on X represent twice the global Jewish population. "His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews," Schwimmer emphasized in his Instagram post.
The Anti-Defamation League's CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt condemned Ye's statements as "a flagrant and unequivocal display of hate," warning about the real-world consequences of such rhetoric when amplified through major platforms.
The American Jewish Committee also expressed concern about the dangerous influence these statements could have on Ye's millions of followers, particularly given the current global rise in antisemitism. They called for others in the entertainment industry to speak out against such hatred.
Several other public figures have joined in condemning Ye's statements, including Meghan McCain and Piers Morgan, though overall public response has been notably more subdued compared to previous incidents.
