Crystal McKinney has dropped Universal Music Group (UMG) from her sexual assault lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs, while maintaining claims against the mogul, Bad Boy Records, Bad Boy Entertainment, and Sean John Clothing.

McKinney alleges Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2003 at his New York City studio after promising to advance her modeling career. According to the lawsuit, she was provided with alcohol and marijuana allegedly laced with intoxicating substances before the assault occurred.

The dismissal of UMG from the case comes through a joint filing from both parties' legal teams. The case against the label has been dropped "with prejudice and without costs," while proceedings continue against the remaining defendants.

This development follows a similar pattern where UMG, its CEO Grainge, and Motown subsidiary were previously removed from a separate sexual assault and sex trafficking complaint filed by Rodney Jones.

Diddy currently faces multiple sexual assault cases, including a recent filing that names Penske Media as a defendant. Additionally, Tupac Shakur's estate is reportedly considering legal action against Diddy regarding claims of his involvement in Tupac's murder.
