Earthcore Festival Crisis: 10+ Artists Cancel After Payment Failures
Several prominent artists are withdrawing from Australia's Earthcore Festival just days before its scheduled start on November 23rd, citing unpaid fees and logistical issues.
DJ duo Coming Soon and Phaxe announced their cancellation on Facebook, stating the festival organizer failed to pay them or book their flights despite repeated promises. Coming Soon, with 15 years of industry experience, called the situation unprecedented and advised fans to request refunds.
According to Coming Soon, over 10 additional artists are expected to withdraw due to payment issues. They allege the promoter knowingly continued selling tickets using artists' names despite being unable to pay them.

Earthcore organizers attempted to attribute the cancellations to "double-booking" issues on their Facebook page, though no other performers have confirmed this explanation.
The festival, founded in 1992, reached its peak in 2000 with 45,000 attendees at the seven-day EDM event. This crisis follows a challenging year for music festivals, including:
- Fyre Festival's infamous collapse
- Pemberton Music Festival's bankruptcy
- The Gathering festival's alleged promoter disappearance
- Route 91 Festival's tragic ending

These developments cast serious doubt on whether the 2017 edition of Earthcore will proceed as planned.
