The raids, conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore, were prompted by numerous complaints after tickets sold out within minutes on official platforms BookMyShow and Zomato Live. Black market sellers exploited the high demand by reselling tickets at inflated prices through social media platforms including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram.
During the October 25 raids, the ED seized electronic devices containing evidence of illegal sales and financial transactions. The investigation has expanded to include potential money laundering operations connected to the ticket resale network.
Key Details:
- Concert Dates: January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, in Mumbai
- Official Sellers: BookMyShow and Zomato Live
- Areas Raided: Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore
- Items Seized: Mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards
The ED continues to investigate the financial networks behind the illegal ticket sales and advises fans to purchase tickets only through official channels to avoid fraud. BookMyShow has filed multiple complaints regarding the unauthorized resales, and authorities are working to prevent similar incidents in the future.
