The charged individuals and their alleged roles:
Drug Supply Charges (4-15 years if convicted):
- Ezequiel Pereyra (hotel employee): Allegedly sold pink cocaine to Payne on October 15-16
- Braian Paiz (waiter): Allegedly sold cocaine to Payne twice on October 14
Manslaughter Charges (1-5 years if convicted):
- Roger Nores (Payne's friend): Failed to provide necessary care and assistance
- Gilda Martin (hotel manager): Failed to prevent Payne from being taken to his dangerous hotel room
- Esteban Grassi (receptionist): Ordered others to drag Payne to his room instead of seeking medical help
Judge Laura Bruniard stated that while Nores, Martin, and Grassi didn't intend Payne's death, their actions contributed to the risk. The two drug suppliers have been taken into custody.
The substance known as 'pink cocaine' or 'tusi' in Argentina can contain various drugs including ketamine, MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and xylazine.
