
Grammy Traditions Prevail: Clive Davis Gala and MusiCares Event to Proceed Despite LA Wildfire Cancellations
Despite widespread cancellations due to Los Angeles wildfires, several major Grammy-related events will proceed as planned, including the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2.

The confirmed events include:
- Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala (marking his 50th anniversary as host)
- MusiCares Person of the Year event honoring The Grateful Dead
- The main Grammy Awards ceremony
The Recording Academy and MusiCares have pledged $1 million to support music professionals affected by the wildfires. This year's Grammy telecast will focus on raising additional funds for wildfire relief efforts and honoring first responders.
The MusiCares Person of the Year celebration on January 31 will feature:
- A posthumous tribute to Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh
- Honors for original band members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, and Bobby Weir
Major cancellations include events by:
- Universal Music Group
- Warner Music Group
- Sony Music Group
- Billboard
The Recording Academy has yet to confirm the status of other Grammy week events, including the Special Merit Awards scheduled for February 1. Past MusiCares honorees include Jon Bon Jovi, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Joni Mitchell, Aerosmith, Dolly Parton, and Fleetwood Mac.
