
Iconic Austin Record Store Waterloo Records Relocates After 42 Years Under New Ownership
Waterloo Records & Video, an Austin music landmark for 42 years, announced its relocation from 600 North Lamar to 1105 North Lamar, alongside new ownership changes. The move is scheduled for Spring.

Long-time owner John Kunz is transitioning ownership to Caren Kelleher and Trey Watson while retaining a minority stake. The new location offers 50% more space, expanding from 6,400 sq. ft., and features improved parking and a larger performance stage for in-store events.

- Caren Kelleher: Founder & CEO of Gold Rush Vinyl
- Trey Watson: CEO of Armadillo Records and President of Globe Entertainment & Media Corp

- Originally opened April 1, 1982
- Won "Best Record Store" award in first year
- Added video rentals in 1985
- Kunz became sole owner in 1987
