The IFPI has launched the first-ever official music charts across six Southeast Asian countries - Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. This marks a historic moment for the Philippines and Vietnam, which have never had official industry-backed charts before.

The inaugural Philippines chart saw local R&B artist Dionela claim the top spot with "Marilag," while Vietnamese artist Dương Domic led Vietnam's chart with "Mất Kết Nối." Notably, eight of Vietnam's top ten tracks were by domestic artists, highlighting the strong local music scene.

The charts will display weekly top 20 tracks in each market, combining streaming data from global platforms like Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, and YouTube, along with regional services such as Langit Musik. The existing charts in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand will be rebranded under the official IFPI banner.

IFPI manages these charts in collaboration with national industry bodies ASIRI (Indonesia), RIM (Malaysia), RIAS (Singapore), and TECA (Thailand), with data preparation by BMAT following IFPI's global charts principles.

Shridhar Subramaniam, President of Asia and Middle East at Sony Music Entertainment and Chairman of the IFPI Asia Regional Executive Board, emphasized that this unified platform will serve as a launchpad for regional artists while providing fans with a centralized destination to explore Southeast Asian music.
