Eric Avery recently shared a recording session video on Instagram, mentioning new material with Stephen's drumming and anticipating Dave Navarro's contribution for 2025. This collaboration mirrors their previous project, Deconstruction, from the early 1990s.

In 1991, Navarro and Avery formed Deconstruction following an earlier Jane's Addiction split, releasing one self-titled album in 1994 before Navarro joined Red Hot Chili Peppers. Navarro recently reflected on the Deconstruction LP, now available on streaming services, praising its "cinematic and soundscapey" nature and the musical chemistry with Avery.

This new collaboration follows recent turmoil within Jane's Addiction, specifically an incident in Boston where Farrell attacked Navarro on stage. The band subsequently canceled their reunion tour, citing Farrell's "continuing pattern of behavior and mental health difficulties" as the reason.

While the members haven't officially labeled this new project as Deconstruction 2.0, they are actively creating new music without Farrell's involvement, suggesting a new chapter for these veteran musicians.
