A second lawsuit has been filed against Quinn Emanuel law firm, alleging a coordinated scheme to pay individuals to sue the Buzbee Law Firm. This follows a similar case filed last month.

Jose Maldonado claims investigators pretending to be federal agents, working for Roc Nation, approached him after identifying him as a former Buzbee client. They allegedly offered money to file a lawsuit against the firm. The Buzbee Law Firm is currently representing clients in high-profile cases against Jay-Z and Diddy, including a 'Jane Doe' rape case.
The investigators reportedly admitted to being paid by Roc Nation and confirmed they were sending cases to lawyer Marcy Croft, who has long-standing ties to Quinn Emanuel. Roc Nation is a Quinn Emanuel client.
Tony Buzbee stated: "The conduct alleged by Mr. Maldonado is illegal and unethical. We know investigators have gone all over the United States illegally contacting our former clients to try to entice them with money to sue our firm. According to Mr. Maldonado, we now know who is behind this effort. We won't be intimidated nor deterred in our important work."
A previous lawsuit filed in December against Quinn Emanuel and a Mississippi attorney included transcripts of similar solicitation attempts by individuals impersonating federal investigators.
Currently, Tony Buzbee represents over 150 alleged victims of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who remains in federal custody facing charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Jay-Z, Roc Nation's founder, has been involved in related abuse allegation lawsuits connected to Combs.
