The fires have severely impacted Los Angeles County, particularly affecting Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades, where UMG is based and where Grainge has resided for over 15 years. In response to the crisis, Grainge has canceled his European business meetings to remain in Los Angeles and coordinate support efforts for affected employees.
Key executives including Jody Gerson, Eric Hutcherson, John Janick, Monte Lipman, Boyd Muir, and Will Tanous have been tasked with organizing assistance for impacted staff members.
The current situation remains critical:
- 24 confirmed deaths
- Dozens still missing
- 92,000 people under evacuation orders
- 89,000 additional people under evacuation warnings
- Approximately 60 square miles burned across Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires
Cal Fire has advised the entire region from Ventura to San Diego to prepare for possible evacuation orders as the fires continue to spread.
