LiAngelo Ball has reportedly secured a $13 million deal with Def Jam/Universal Music Group following the viral success of his track "Tweaker." The deal reportedly includes an $8 million guarantee, according to ESPN and Ball's Born2Ball Music Group label.

The 26-year-old professional basketball player, also known as G3 or G3 Gelo, released "Tweaker" in early January, accumulating millions of streams across YouTube, Spotify, and other platforms.

BeatStars confirmed the deal and revealed details about the song's creation process. Ball found and licensed the beat through their platform, which was produced by Glockie Cheez and KUNICA. He recorded the vocals using Voloco, a BeatStars-partnered mobile DAW, directly from his phone.

According to BeatStars, the beat was initially discovered on Voloco through their integration partnership. A friend of Ball found the beat while browsing Voloco and shared it with him.

The track's success highlights an important shift in music production, demonstrating that professional-quality music can be created without traditional studio equipment. BeatStars founder and CEO Abe Batshon emphasized this point, stating, "This is the future of music creation. With the right tools, artists like LiAngelo Ball are breaking down barriers and proving that creativity has no limits."

The platform has paid out over $350 million to its creator community, representing a significant contribution to the democratization of music production while maintaining human artistry and proper compensation for musicians.

The success of "Tweaker" and its production method stands in contrast to the rising tide of AI-generated music, showcasing how traditional human creativity can thrive alongside modern production tools.
