Martin Garrix has made history by winning his fifth DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Award, matching Armin van Buuren's record. The announcement was made at Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) in front of 40,000 fans at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The historic moment was particularly meaningful as Armin van Buuren personally presented Garrix with the award. "I'm on the list with all my idols. I look up to Armin, I look up to Tiësto. To be in there with those guys is very surreal," Garrix remarked during his acceptance speech.

2024 has been an exceptional year for Garrix, highlighted by:

  • His seventh consecutive headline residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza
  • Worldwide festival performances
  • His track "Breakaway" being covered by Coldplay at Glastonbury

As the youngest DJ ever to reach the No.1 position in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs, Garrix continues to dominate the electronic dance music scene. The achievement is particularly significant as both he and van Buuren, both Dutch DJs, now share the record for most wins in the poll's history.

The event featured performances from notable artists including Tiësto, Timmy Trumpet, Maddix, and Showtek, making it the highlight of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2024.
