The partnership, which began in 2019 with an initial $25 million five-year deal, has successfully brought Black music to the forefront of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Notable performances have included The Weeknd, Rihanna, Usher, and the historic collaboration of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed satisfaction with the relationship, stating, "I'm not sure either one of us really spend much time talking about contracts. Jay is happy, Desiree Perez is happy. I'm happy, so we're all good."

The announcement comes amid controversy regarding Kendrick Lamar's selection as this year's performer in New Orleans, particularly after Lil Wayne expressed disappointment at not being chosen to perform in his hometown. Despite an online campaign supporting Wayne's selection, the NFL maintained its choice, noting that it's uncommon for halftime performers to be from the host city.

The terms and duration of the renewed contract have not been disclosed.
