The lawsuit targets Universal Music, surviving Nirvana members, and the album cover photographer. Elden alleges they "knowingly produced, possessed, and advertised commercial child pornography" and claims he suffered "permanent harm," including emotional distress and loss of income earning capacity.

Court documents reveal that Elden has not yet served any defendants, though attempts at mediation have been made. He plans to file an amended complaint by November 22nd, with defendants required to respond by January 21st, 2022.

Notable context: Elden previously embraced his connection to the album, having reshot the photo as an adult and tattooed "Nevermind" on his chest. The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
