The three-hour special, "Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music," will showcase previously untold stories behind the show's most influential musical performances, sketches, and cameos throughout its five-decade run.

The documentary features interviews with over 50 prominent artists, including:

  • Rock legends: Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, Dave Grohl
  • Contemporary stars: Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa
  • Industry icons: Paul Simon, Justin Timberlake, Jack White

SNL veterans and crew members also share their perspectives, including creator Lorne Michaels, cast members Eddie Murphy, Maya Rudolph, and Kenan Thompson, among others.

Questlove expressed his excitement about the project, noting that while famous performances by artists like Prince and the Beastie Boys are well-known, they represent just a fraction of the show's rich musical history.

The documentary is a collaborative effort between Two One Five Entertainment, RadicalMedia, and Broadway Video, with executive production by Lorne Michaels, Questlove, and several other industry veterans.

This special is part of SNL's 50th-anniversary celebration, which also includes a four-part docuseries "SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night" premiering January 16, and a live prime-time special scheduled for February 16.
