RCA Greater China Signs Five-Album Deal to Boost Chinese Hip-Hop Scene with IRIS Chengdu

The partnership involves five IRIS artists: Vinida Weng, Haysen Cheng, Miles, Swag Kelly, and Harikiri (Andre Grant, IRIS Chengdu's founder). All albums will be released through RCA Greater China within a 12-month period.
Vinida Weng's "7th Seed" marks the first release under this partnership, featuring both English and Mandarin tracks. The artist recently performed her first international concert and released a new Mandarin single "Black Eight" featuring Haysen Cheng.
IRIS Chengdu, established in November 2021, functions as both a record label and talent management company. The collaboration aims to:
- Expand Chinese hip-hop's global reach
- Maintain authentic artistic expression
- Bridge cultural gaps through music
- Strengthen RCA's presence in the Chinese market
This move follows similar strategic partnerships in China's music industry, including Universal Music Greater China's recent exclusive agreement with Liu Huan and their promotion of Jacky Cheung's milestone 1,000th concert.
Harikiri emphasizes that the partnership will help share authentic Chinese stories globally while maintaining artistic integrity. While financial details remain undisclosed, the collaboration represents a significant step in connecting Chinese hip-hop with international audiences.
