A Seoul court has blocked Hybe from dismissing Min Hee-jin as CEO of Ador, the music label behind K-pop group NewJeans, citing insufficient evidence for her removal.

The ruling prevents Hybe from exercising voting rights to remove Min at the upcoming May 31 shareholder meeting. Min's legal team has urged Hybe to respect the decision and warned against attempts to dismiss her or other Ador directors.

The conflict emerged in April when Hybe initiated an internal audit, alleging Min attempted to seize control of Ador through a potential management buyout. Min, who owns 18% of Ador shares, countered by claiming unfair treatment from Hybe (80% stakeholder), including discrimination against NewJeans and undervaluation of the label.

Key developments:

  • Hybe filed a police complaint against Min for alleged breach of duty
  • Min secured an injunction blocking Hybe's voting rights
  • Both parties launched public relations campaigns
  • Police investigation remains ongoing
  • Hybe plans to pursue additional legal options

While Hybe has agreed to comply with the court's immediate ruling, the company intends to continue pursuing legal action regarding Min's alleged attempt to take control of Ador.
