Soneium is a public blockchain with an open network allowing universal participation. It aims to provide comprehensive web3 solutions from infrastructure to applications, moving beyond partial services. Users can access the network through compatible applications, including web3 games and NFT marketplaces, using their digital wallets.

Key features and benefits:

  • Decentralized management of app activity
  • Integration with existing web3 services
  • New collaborative opportunities within Sony Group
  • Enhanced creator rights protection
  • New profit-sharing mechanisms for creators and fans
  • Cross-platform functionality between digital and physical worlds

Sony plans to release a testnet for app developers, enabling collaborative application development both within and outside the Sony Group. This initiative represents Sony's strategic move into blockchain infrastructure, aiming to make web3 services more accessible to new users while strengthening creator-fan relationships.

The platform will support various business applications through Sony Group's diverse portfolio, focusing on creating engaging use cases for those new to web3 services while maintaining decentralized autonomy and security.
