Web3 startup Story has acquired producer rights to several Blackpink tracks and other K-pop recordings, planning to sell them as NFTs to fans. The acquisition includes partial rights to Blackpink's "Yeah Yeah Yeah," "Ready For Love," Jisoo's "Flower," "All Eyes On Me," and Bigbang's "Still Life."

The company has already demonstrated success in the music NFT space, having previously sold tokenized hits from artists like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, and Maroon 5. Their initial project raised an impressive $10 million, with $7 million generated in just the first 10 minutes.

According to a Story spokesperson, the rights were obtained directly from producers involved in creating these songs. Investors who participate will receive a portion of copyrights and their associated income streams. The company projects an annualized royalty yield of 6-8% over the next five years on these tokenized rights.

This move comes as part of Story's broader initiative to tokenize K-pop intellectual property, despite the general cooling of the music NFT market since its peak in 2021. Meanwhile, Blackpink's Lisa Manobal is expanding her career into acting, making her debut in Season 3 of HBO Max's "The White Lotus."
