Taylor Swift has announced her '1989' concert film will be exclusively available on Apple Music starting December 20th, continuing her boycott of Spotify. The film, directed by Jonas Akerlund, features a full concert recorded at ANZ Stadium in Sydney along with behind-the-scenes footage and special guest appearances.

Swift has previously criticized Spotify, calling it a "start-up with no cash flow" and claiming they "reacted to criticism like a corporate machine." In contrast, she praised Apple Music, stating "Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about."

The exclusive deal comes as Spotify approaches 100 million users. While Swift's high-profile absence has actually helped Spotify through increased media attention, other major artists like Adele and Coldplay may be following Swift's lead in limiting their content on the platform.

In response, Spotify has announced plans to allow certain artists to restrict their material to paying subscribers only, marking a shift from CEO Daniel Ek's previous stance against such limitations.
