TikTok has launched a new group chat feature, allowing users to create chat groups with up to 32 participants to share and discuss videos directly within the platform.

Key Features:

  • Maximum 32 users per group chat
  • Users can watch, comment, and react to videos together
  • Only available to users aged 15 and above
  • Custom stickers in DMs (coming soon)

Safety Measures:

  • Users can only be added by mutual followers
  • Teens (16-17) require mutual friends to join groups
  • Teen users must approve new additions to their groups
  • Muting and blocking tools available
  • Message reporting system
  • Limits on group creation and message forwarding

How to Create a Group Chat:

  1. Tap "Chat" at the top of your TikTok inbox
  2. Select "More Options"
  3. Choose friends to include
  4. Tap "Start Group Chat"

To Join an Existing Group:

  1. Open the group chat invite
  2. Click "Join Group"

This new feature represents TikTok's strategy to enhance social interaction within its platform, competing with established messaging services while maintaining user safety and engagement.
